.NET Domains
When the .NET generic top-level domain name extension was first started in 1985, together with the first domain name extensions on the Internet, it was intended to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure companies. Given the fact that there were no special regulations about the usage of the top-level domain extension, though, .NET domains were taken and used for various purposes and by many people. This extension represents a perfect substitution for .COM, especially if the necessary domain with the latter TLD is not free for registration.
Acquiring a dot NET domain with our company is as easy as pie and takes only a couple of minutes, since we partner with an ICANN-certified registrar. You can register such a domain for an interval between one and ten years, or, if you already have a domain, you can move it over to our company and we will renew it once the transfer process is done. Transfers are possible for all domain names, which are at least 60 days old, given that they are not locked and that you possess an EPP transfer code – security measures introduced by the dot NET Registry organization against unauthorized transfers. You can easily edit the WHOIS info of the domain through your Control Panel tool, or, if you don’t want this info to be public at all, you can get a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to view your real contact information.
The dot NET top-level domain extension supports internationalized names, so you can decide whether you want to aim at a particular country or area using a domain name in the native language, or the global online community – using a generic English name.
