An access log is a detailed list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a certain website. Every file that was requested for whatever reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with 3 embedded pics, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for any of the six files that were accessed when the visitor opened the webpage. A log usually shows the file name and path, the date, as well as the visitor’s Operating System, web browser and IP address. Sometimes you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your website. The information an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to prepare reports on the functionality of an Internet site, aside from the web stats which your hosting server may have produced.
Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting
When you opt for one of our shared hosting packages, you shall get comprehensive access logs for all your websites. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you can check out the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see a complete list of the domains and subdomains which you have added or created in the hosting account. You'll only need to click on the On button, that is located on the right-hand side of every hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs at once. To stop this function, you will have to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled separately and at any time. You will find a download link inside the Logs section of the CP for any log created by our system, so that you can save the file to your personal computer and view it or use it with some log processing software.
