Website Migration
-
Q: What exactly does website migration mean and what does it entail?
A: If your current hosting provider can no longer fulfill the necessities of your site, or when you undergo continual downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the support staff to reply back to you, it may be a good idea to switch your provider, i.e. to move all the files for your web sites along with your databases from your present provider to your new provider. At Duoservers, we are aware that this can be difficult and time–consuming. That’s why we’ll perform all that for you at no cost! Our highly capable technical staff will migrate your website content from your current hosting provider to us. Our techs have a lot of experience with website migration and can handle anything – from a typical WordPress–driven blog or Joomla™–driven web site, to a very elaborate, custom–built app.
-
Q: Just how long will the website migration procedure take?
A: There are lots of aspects to bear in mind – the overall amount of web files, the size of the database, the complexity of the website itself and the current workload of our web site migration professionals, etc. Yet, we do our best to accomplish all web site migrations in a 48–hour period. Smaller websites are transferred faster – usually in less than 24 hours.
-
Q: My personal privacy is important to me. What details do you need?
A: Yep. We’ll require the name of the web site that you would like us to move. We’ll also require a means to log into your current hosting account so that we can get the files associated with your site.
-
Q: My current web hosting account has delicate info inside. How can I trust you?
A: Our Privacy Policy is an indivisible part of the agreement that we will have with you as a customer. We are dedicated to protecting the safety of the private info obtained from the clients. To do that, we employ technical safety measures to avoid the loss, the abuse, the modification or the unlawful disclosure of the private data under our control. The security measures include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the info that we assemble on the World Wide Web. When we request customers to supply financial information (for example, a credit card number), this info is encrypted using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technique.
-
Q: Will there be any downtime for my site?
A: While we migrate your site, it will be available both in your hosting account with us and in your account with your previous web hosting provider. After the migration is complete, we’ll ensure that everything is functioning properly and that the integrity of your data is not affected prior to notifying you that the migration is completed. After that, we’ll instruct you how to transfer the domain name over to your hosting account with us and how to change your DNS records.
-
Q: Will my current hosting provider need to do anything?
A: Nope. Apart from your login details for the Control Panel, we will not need anything. We will never touch base with your hosting provider. They will not know anything about the transfer either.
-
Q: Does it make any difference what platform my current hosting provider is using?
A: Yeah. We support all conventional Linux–based web hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–powered web hosting platforms, because we do not offer Windows hosting services ourselves.Furthermore, we do not support proprietary web site building and administration user interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
